Is an online MBA valid for government jobs?

What UGC entitlement means and how to check a university in two minutes.

Updated on 29 Oct 2026 · Reviewed by My MBA College editorial team · How we verify

Quick answer

Yes, if the university is entitled by the UGC to offer that online programme in your admission year. UGC regulations treat online degrees from entitled universities as equivalent to regular degrees.

How to check

Open deb.ugc.ac.in and find the entitled list for the current session.
Search for the university and confirm the MBA is listed.
Save a dated screenshot.

Some recruitment notices set their own conditions, so read each notice. Full guide: Is an online MBA valid?
